The Locker Room- oil on canvas

Happy Home Opener Red Sox Nation!
This is a painting that was born in 1997!  A great master reproduction of a Norman Rockwell original titled, "The Locker Room".  I revisited this painting this winter after years of ignoring it in my parents attic.  I avoided it.  It was a beast.  I was afraid of it.  I looked at Rockwell's extreme photographic detail and knew I couldn't even come close.  To take it on again meant I had to face my inadequacies as an artist.  In doing that I learned I am no Rockwell!  I tried to bring the canvas to a "finished" stage.  A stage that I could live with...The finished stage taught me that there is value in finishing what you start to your very best effort.  I can live with that.

  1. Truly, this article is really one of the very best in the history of articles. I am a antique ’Article’ collector and I sometimes read some new articles if I find them interesting. And I found this one pretty fascinating and it should go into my collection. Very good work! schlüsseldienst alfeld leine
